Below are pictures of Charlotte Elizabeth Janet and Conrad James Stevenson taken the first two weeks of August.  We had two weeks in Crete staying near Elounda on the East side of Crete.

Key events this month were:

• Two weeks R&R.
• We explored the towns to the East and West of us.
• We ate most evenings in Plaka to the West of us.  We also ventured to Elounda and to Ag. Nikoloas
• We went on a boat trip
• We went across to Spinilonga – which used to be a Leper colony
• We hired a car and went to Knossos and did a day trip exploring the coast eastwards towards Sitia
• We met up with Roro and Tom who where also on holiday in Crete
• On Roro’s recommendation we took a Land Rover off road trip into the interior of Crete

Here is the salt encrusted fish we had one evening with Roro and Tom at the Kanali Taverna near Elounda.  The Raki is used to heat up the encrusted rock salt so that is can be hammered off:
